FAQ

Learn About Home Inspection Standards and Practices

  • What Is a Home Inspection?

A non-invasive, visual examination of a residential dwelling. Eagle View Home Inspections provides our clients with a written report identifying defects that could change the value of the home.

  • What Will a Home Inspection Cost?

Fees vary based on location, size, ancillary services (septic dye testing, wood-destroying organism analysis, radon testing, and/or water analysis) requested and/or required by the client, mortgage lender, or attorney.

  • Why Do I Need a Home Inspection?

As a buyer, purchasing a home can be emotional, if not overwhelming. This purchase could be your single largest investment in your lifetime. Eagle View Home Inspections offers an unbiased, non-emotional evaluation of the home.

  • Can I Do the Inspection Myself?

When a situation requires a professional, it is best to hire a professional. There are so many aspects to a proper home inspection that unless you have training in the field, you can’t be sure you are not overlooking a potential problem.

  • When Do I Call in the Home Inspector?

Typically, your realtor and/or attorney will help guide you through this process. The home inspection should be completed before signing a contract or a purchase agreement obligation. The contract purchase agreement is contingent upon the findings of the professional home inspection report.

  • Can a House Fail Inspection?

NO. Professional home inspections completed by licensed home inspectors examine the current conditions of the residence you are considering. This inspection is not an appraisal; we do not determine current market values or verify current code compliance requirements. Home inspectors do not pass or fail a residence but describe the home's condition on the inspection day.

  • How Long Does a Home Inspection Take?

Depending on the size of the home and ancillary services to be completed, the inspection should take 3 to 4 hours.

  • Do I Need to Attend the Inspection?

It is not required. However, Eagle View Home Inspections STRONGLY recommends that the client be in attendance which will enable you to have a better undestanding of the many systems and allow any questions to be answered on site.

  • How Do I Pay for My Inspection?

Eagle View Home Inspections Inc. accepts cash, checks, credit and debit cards.

  • Why Should I Choose Eagle View Home Inspections?

Not only did Pete from Eagle View Home Inspections attend the necessary home inspection course training requirements and receive the necessary certifications, he also majored in construction management in college and has multiple decades of experience working in the remodeling/renovation industry.
